Let me just start off saying that this isn't place for me to complain about how hard it is to be 17, because it really isn't that hard, even though it is Limbo Land. But this is just my opinionated version of what life is through 17 year old eyes.

I Finally Got A Job ?
So since I got layed off at Apricot Lane due to lack of customers (not on my part at all), I've been looking for a new job and have had NO such luck. BUT recentely, actually 2 days ago, I went on an interview for this place called ChibiBomb, whcih is a chili place that serves chili in like, a million different ways. And the bets news is that the interview went SO well. She said that I had a lot of good experience working in a kitchen since I worked at Pinkberry and I think we really hit it off ! So tomorrow is wednesday and she said that she would call everyone then and let them know if they got the job or not and I am really going to be doing nothing all day tomorrow except for wating for my call! I sincerely hope I get this job ! Wish me luck !

Catching up ?
Well it's been a real long while since I've posted something. Wow, 8 days, but nobody's dying; I've just been super busy. I had my 17th birthday and it was by far the best birthday I've had. So here it is:
It's August 1st, and I pass out at 11pm, but set alarm for 12:22am because I was born at 12:23, and I wanted to be awake as I turned 17, lame but it's whatever. Then the alarm goes off, yay I'm 17, and I pass right back out on the pillow. It's morning, I wake up and go downstairs to find not only Happy Birthday balloon, but a Harry Potter Birthday balloon as well sitting on top of presents. I got my sparkle pumps from Bakers & a Juicy Couture cupcake charm for my bracelet, yess. So I go have breakfast and my mom tells me it's going to rain the next day, which was the day I was going to go into the City with my best friends Brianna and Cara, and suggests that we go today since it's supposed to be gorgeous. So I call Brianna, she agrees, and tells me to wake Cara up and tell her. So I walk up the street to Cara's house, whcih is wide open, I go into her room, stand by her bed and then be like "HEY!". Hilarious reaction I got, but she was awake, but in the end she wasn't able to go, so it was just Brianna and I. So we shopped in the City for a few hours, came home and then Brianna and Cara picked me up so we could all hangout and have our old-fashioned sleepovers with the giant pancakes and whatnot. So that was my birthday ! SO much fun. And SO many new cute clothes.
Then there was the 3rd where my friend Amanda came home from Long Beach Island and my mom and I picked up her and her mom Debbie & we all drove to the Millford Mall so Amanda and I could get our noses pierced. We went into Generation X and there was a very unhelpful new girl that told us that if we wanted our noses pierced with the needle, we would have to wait in 4, but didn't tell us it had to be 4 on that Friday. So we waited around, got lunch for 2 hours, came back & that's when she told us that it had to be Friday, but there were 2 girls coming in that could go it with the gun. We said we wanted it done, so the gun it was. I got mine first; it didn't really hurt but your nose if connected to your tear ducts so I teared, and then that was it. Amanda got her's done, and we were good ! So here I am 1 week later from getting it gone & I just got my stud changed today to an actualy nose stud as opposed to an earring. I won't get poked, but I still have to sleep with a band-aid on my nose while I sleep.
Well those have been my past few days. From the 4th to today, I really just hung out and did nothing too special. But if you'll excuse me I think I'm actually gonna go to bed. I plan to wake up relatively early so I can go to the gym & shower afterwards just in time to meet my romanian friend Razvan for coffee at 12, at Starbucks. So for now, the Kat House is closed.

It's Always The Day Before My Birthday
Every year, the day before my birthday is the worst possible day. This year, I was supposed to get my nose pierced on my birthday and my friend backed out and moved it to Thursday. I now have to wait 3 days to get something I really want, so that sucks. On top of that, I was trying to tell my father about my brilliant future plan; I want to go to school to major in Food Chemistry, minor in Business, move to New York City, and open up a cupcake shop in which I make healthy cupcakes. He heard this all and shoots my plan to hell by asking me if I know how much this is going to cost me. THIS IS IN 5 YEARS DAD. And he kept going ! He asked if I knew how much an apartment was, how much it would be to keep a car in the city...do I honestly care about prices. My plan was absolutely shot to hell. Thanks Dad, your the absolute best..just kidding your not. Love Kat <3 I'm closing the Kat House due to insufficient support to my future.

I Felt Like It
In one hour it's August 1st and that only means that the next day is my 17th birthday ! August first also means that I'm going to the beach with my friend Hughbert tomorrow; and this time I hopefully won't get sunburn my butt. I know how weird that sounds but let me explain. I went to the beach a few weeks ago with Hughbert & he asked me if I had any sunscreen on, watching out for me like a good friend, so I wouldn't get burned. So not having any sunscreen on, I said, jokingly, I was too cool for it. An hour of so passes by, and what gets burned while I'm tanning ? My ass. And it hurt to sit. And to make it even better, when I was flipping over onto my stomach, Hugh smacks his book against my sunburn, ouch. Never again will I go to the beach again without sunscreen on my butt. But enough about that, I just felt like blogging something to here it is. Kat House closed.

Healthy Cupcakes
So I've just come to realization that all of my posts have started with "So" or "Today", including this one. But beside that fact, I'm almost 17! Like I've said in a recent post, there's nothing really special about it, but it's one more year until 18 and that I can do almost anything I want. But I didn't come on here to talk about my almost birthday, but my amazing idea that will hopefully take off after I get out of college. So originally, I planned to be a Chemistry Teacher, but after interning with one, I decided that I wanted to be the one doing the experiments. Then I resorted to being a Cosmetology Chemist, in which I actually make make-up, and I had it all planned that I would work in Clinique Industries. It sounded great up until I've decided that I want to live in New York City, and you can't really mix the two together. There is Clinique Headquarters in New York, but it's not in The City where I want it to be.
SO one day I was looking through my cabinet for something to eat and I came across this box of Whonu Cookies. I looked at the back of the box and in the serving size of 3 cookies, your getting as much fiber as a bowl of oatmeal, vitamin C as a cup of berries, vitamin A as an 8oz. glass tomato juice, vitamin B12 as a cup of cottage cheese and fruit, vitamin E as 2 cups of carrot juice, iron as a cup of spinach and as much calcium and vitamin D as an 8oz. glass of milk. It was ridiculous, and then I got this brilliant idea. Since I love to bake so much, why don't I do the same thing with these cookies, but with cupcakes. I could study Food Chemistry in college, and minor in some type of Business Management, make my healthy cupcakes, and open a little shop in New York City. It's perfect, and it's exactly what I've decided I'm going to do. I'm so excited that the Kat House is closed.

I Was Sick Because I Didn't Go To The Gym ?
Today, I wasn't feeling very good, or the day before that, and kind of the one before that. I just got back from a Pilates class at the Fitness Edge and I feel GREAT ! I think that I actually got sick from not exercising for such a long time. That's just not something that usually happens. Well, I guess it's possible since exercising is an outlet for stress and other such, so that's a pretty logical explanation. But all in all..I don't feel like crap anymore ! And other than that, I don't really have anything else today, so I guess that Kat House is closed.

Jobs
So I just sent in an Email to The Chili Factory, an opening chili place in my town, in hopes they will respond and hire me. I've been looking for a new job since I got layed off at Apricot Lane Boutique, which was very odd. It's not that I though I would never get layed off, it was just the way it happened. I usually only worked Tuesday from 3pm-6pm, so there was no way she could have slowly taken me off the schedule; but when I started to ask for more house, she gave me one more day for a bit and then just cut my hours all together. What the hell was that all about ? And then when I went to go in to collect a check I had forgotten to get, there were two new girls working, and the employee that handed me my check said, "Have a nice summer." So there went my only source of income. I had had a babysitting job, but the mother kept forgetting to send me times, so I'm only there once in a while. But back to topic, it's so hard for teens to get a job these days. I mean it's hard for everyone, but being younger than everyone else in the workforce, the older ones are prone to being hired. It's a little unfair actually, but I'm not going to push it. I just hope this chili factory works out, even though I don't like chili at all. But hey, money is money, and money pays for the expensive gas that I'm buying for $4.15 per gallon. By the way, thank you Obama for spending America's tax dollars to pay for what you can't. Honestly, you're not helping out the American Dream, and you said you wanted change. Well you're doing a great job. But for now my fellow Americans, the Kat House is closed.
A Typical Dreary Summer Day
Today is really one of those does where there is nothing to be done..this is my extremely typical summer day. Most people I know are either sleeping or they're those lucky SOB's at Gathering of the Vibes. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's a big 4-day music festival. In short, it's a modern day Woodstock. I'm not there because my mother deemed it "unsafe"; that's not the word she used because it was so long ago that I asked, but she just said no. Dammit. I guess it's just one of those things I'll end up doing later in life; try when I'm 18 so then I'm a legal adult. But until then, I'm stuck in Limbo Land. That's the thing about being 16, almost 17. Those are such tricky ages because, although you can drive, you can't do anything like clubbing, or hookah, or anything else that you need to be 18 for. It's just a matter of trying to figure out what to do on a daily basis; and I mean a daily basis. But I'm not going to sit here and complain just because I said I wouldn't and there's really not much to complain about now since my cousins are visiting for the next 3 days. So they should keep me preoccupied; but the nights where I stay up late, I'll have to figure those out myself. Maybe I'll actually read my summer reading book A Thousand Splendid Suns. I have to admit that it's actually a fantastic book, just a little hard to follow. So to my, hopefully, few people that actually read this blog (Yes, I know it's only been up for one day) I challenge you to read this book, and tell me what you think. But for now, The Kat House is closed

First Impression
Today marks the first ever day that I, Kat, write my first ever blog. It's not that it should be a national holiday or anything, but I've never done this before, so I guess it's... monumental. Regardless, I'm still doing this even though I know some days I'll have to drag myself to my laptop and write something about the life of a 16 year old girl... Almost 17. Soon enough, I'll be back to write something of actual value. But for now, the Kat House is closed.
